All it takes..

A conversation just before bedtime.

Little One : You have to sleep with me for at least 15 minutes today till I go to sleep. then you can go to your bed.

Me : I have work to do. 5 minutes and that is it, okay?

Little One : What do I have to do for making you thaacham (sleep) for some more time? Chainsaw you to the bed?

Me : !!!! Did you mean to say Chain me to the bed?

LO : laughs out loud and says "I guess so.. if I chainsawed you to the bed you will be dead! ha ha ha"

Me : That was not funny!

Somehow yours truly has become a very serious dude these days. Used to be a lot more funny even three four years ago. Don't know what happened over time. It is time to take life a little less seriously and start thinking funny... writing funny!

Dress up we did..

We attended a friends wedding today. The entire family dressed up after a long time.. what I mean by that is that I wore a suit on a weekend after a long long time.

 

The kids are right. I do clean up "nicely" and the pictures look better if daddy also "dresses up"!

History projects

The little one has a school project where she has to be a person of historic interest, dress like that person and do a report, 5 minute speech in front of the class etc. 

The two most popular picks for desi girls ? Sacagawea and Pocahontas! 

Jr. was Sacagawea three years ago and the little one is Pocahontas. San found an old tops of hers that fits like a gown on the little one and with some creative touches with feathers from three years ago, we present to you an authentic looking Pocahontas.. well, as authentic as we can make her..

We hope she does her speech with the same enthusiasm she showed for dressing in costume.
