Funny words coined by kids..

My daughter tells me last night...

NO daddy. I am not "losting" it. I am just keeping it safe in my handbag !

Burst out laughing. She didnt understand why I was laughing.

Later we told her to say "losing" not "losting".

In my experience kids, Chinese and Israeli's come up with the most amazing words.

Presently compiling a list of these words.. will post it soon.

Paheli - What gives ?

Finally saw Paheli recently.. Especially after all the comments on the blog circle on why in god's name, they would choose it as India's oscar entry !!

That piqued my interest and I was already watching it with a bias ! Expected it to be bad, what with "ghosts falling in love with people" being the main theme of the movie (this got the general public to bad mouth the movie a lot).

I was transfixed by the choreography, the theme, the acting and the weird story line. It was a very likeable love story. The most unique love story that I have come across in all my years of movie watching (okay, in Ghost, Demi gets in touch with her Ghost Husband through Whoopi, we know that).. but this was a fairy tale of sorts and I absolutely loved it. Asked my mother in law to get me the soundtrack from India and I must have listened to "dheere Jalna" at least 50 times in the last week..

If Harry Potter is believable (assuming you are open to Hogwarts) and if Ghost is believable (assuming you are open to Demi Moore doing pottery !! he he ), then Paheli is believable (you have to be open to Ghosts in human bodies).

The fact that I am a die hard Shah Rukh Khan fan helped me counter bias the negative comments I had read about Paheli !!

By the way, Have you guys seen "SRK's Inner / Outer World ?" .. I have..

Angel - photo blog

My little angel.. she is a "big girl" now !!

Thanks to Nima aunty and Vijay uncle for the dress... she just loves it!! We may have finally gotten her out of her "spongebobs"!!

Surprise Surprise

Was working on editing the birthday video.. came back to the living room.. felt like I walked into some kind of alien play..

The little one had distributed her alphabets on white paper all over the floor.. She kept going up the couch to get an ariel view and came back down to adjust the patterns. .

This scared me.. Was she seeing something in the pattern that I did not ? Maybe my daughter is gifted ? Then I asked her what this was on the carpet and her answer :

Kolangal !!!

(for non Tamil readers : Kolangal refers to patterns on the floor made by indians using flowers or color powders, flour for religious or cultural functions..It also happens to be the name of a popular Tamil TV series.

Even by Kolangal standards, this was one weird Kolam!

We have this plant in our yard which blooms for 2 months around october to december. Leaves look like this is some banana variant..
