Is there a way to change the order in which the apps appear in the iPhone?
It shows up in chronological downloaded order in the phone Shows up alphabetically on the Laptop before you sync to the phone
Can I organize my apps on the first page, jr.'s apps on 2nd page, the little one's apps on third page etc. etc.?
As you have probably figured out by now, the kids are running amok on the itunes store.. they know that daddy will only download free apps.
you should see their marketing pitch.
Daddy, download this. It says "FREE"!
LO: can you also download that one. I like that game.
Me: you just saw a small box with a picture of a monkey on it. you don't even know what that game is. how can you like it already?
LO: I just like it, that is all!
Me: It is not free. It costs money
Jr: how much money?
Me: It costs a dollar okay. We don't know if the game is any good. So we are not buying anything if we have to pay money.
Jr: you are lying. you said one dollar. It says only point ninety nine! There is no dollar
Me: !!!!!!! (noothukku oru rooba kamminnu Vivek comedy pannuvaan.. adhu real lifelaye comedy ayiduththe!!! non Tamlish folks, please excuse me.. that cannot be translated)
We now pretty much have the top 25 free toddler games, kids games all downloaded. We also have a six year old who can go to youtube directly from the iPhone and watch videos!
so, once again.. a request to those i-wizards out there.. if there is a way to rearrange the apps, please let me know...
When you get a new gizmo that fascinates you, it might take a few days or even a few weeks to get the gadget and all its controls at your fingertips.
That is what is going on now..
Have spent 8+ hours in the last week to learn how to do things the i-way!
Still figuring out interesting things, when the kids will stop playing tic-tac-toe or memory games.
This small piece of electronics has shifted life and focus in the household significantly in the last week. The novelty will wear out in a few days and that is when blogposting will resume..
The FIL gave me an amazing gift for our 10th wedding anniversary. That was for keeping his gift to me from ten years ago still alive and kicking.
Alive she is and kicking (me) for sure, and that goes without saying.
In any case, he gave me an iPhone which he had got in India. Unfortunately that thing didn't work here as it was attached to a Vodafone carrier. So we sold it to a phone store here and purchased a new 3GS !!! The employer also decided that they would support the plan since I paid for the phone out of pocket! That was a winning deal...
This gizmo (inspite of reports that it overheats) is awesome. I have never owned an i-anything. This is my first attempt at owning an i-device and absolutely love this.
1. It takes great pictures and videos with 800x600 resolution (my Sony camcorder takes videos at 640 x 480).
2. Have downloaded all of 2063 songs in my music collection to the iPhone and it still has memory left!
3. Have downloaded Pacman, Hangman and Tic-Tac-Toe and can now amuse Jr. and the little one very easily for upto 20-25 minutes, thereby setting a new world record.
That was a photo taken with the 3GS.
Unfortunately the quicktime video's are not amenable to editing using Windows Movie maker and that is leaving me back in the stone ages. Picasa 3 seems to be able to direct upload the video without any editing possibilities, but youtube is down for maintenance, so hopefully you will see that video uploaded tomorrow.
Quicktime + PC = blasphemy AVI + Mac = blasphemy'
Using those two equations, one can understand how Microsoft and Apple complete the universal software laws.
All said and done, an all purpose amusement device, for a guy who is already amused easily!
ps. If you know of a good, free, virus and malware free movie converter to get the quicktimes to avi please let me know.
pps. If you know how to get the quicktime directly into Picasa or another free movie editor to put titles and credits and then save movie file, let me know as well.
