Dos princessas
In spite of all the hoopla or hurry bury or whatever else you want to call ~7 days in Chennai, my mom took some time to get some salwar material, get it to the local tailor and pester him repeatedly over the phone to stitch matching salwars for Jr. and the little one!
Not one set, but four sets! It was amazing that Jr. and the little one are at the right size so that with one adults salwar cloth material, you get just exactly two sets. We got them at 8:30 PM and I had to leave for the airport at 11:00PM. It was close, but you should have seen
a. smile on my mom's face when she handed me the bag
b. smile on Jr's face when she came from school and saw what dad got her
c. beam on the little one's face when she saw what was in the suitcase for her
d. the smile on San and Bombay paati's face when they saw the kids wear the first matching set earlier tonight.
Here's to these girls and women whose smiles make my day!

Dress up with Bombay
Bombay paati(grandma) taught the girls to play dress up.
This game is always concluded with a photoshoot by daddy.
Here are a couple of good ones..
Gives us a preview of things to come, doesn't it?
A conversation between the little one and Grandma.
LO : You will give all the jewels to me ?
Bombay: Yes da Chellam. After me, I am going to give you all my jewels!
LO : Then dont wear them all the time. Or they will get dirty when you give them to me.
Bombay: !!!!!!!
San is going to have a very tough time when the two grow up. Thank god daddy does not wear jewels and the girls don't care much for electronic equipment.
ps. they have already divvied up grandma and mommy's jewelry.

Sari fun
We went on a cleaning spree this afternoon. The dust got to me.
Now that I am full of allergy tablets, nasal sprays and the like, there is a little energy left to post something!
While cleaning up, we found the readymade Sari that we used for Jr. a few years ago (thanks to Bombay Paati)!
We did not have this blog when Jr. tried on the same Sari (but I managed to chase down that picture)..
Here is Jr. in a Sari (photo from November 2004).
Needless to say, she was a pro at wearing it as well as posing for a photoshoot.
Here is the little one.
She was soooo thrilled !
Girls, as previously stated in this blog, will be girls!!
The young one is learning a thing or two about posing from her akka...
