Perspective
Went to the local video store with Jr. and the little one.
Was waiting for the traffic light to turn green, when a biker came and stopped next to us at the light. This was a big white dude in bike shorts, with tattoos all over his arms and legs, multiple earings on each ear, matted long brown hair (Bob Marley style) and a bandana over his head.
Jr. was observing him from the car seat in the back for the entireity of the traffic light cycle and when we started turning, said:
"Daddy, I don't think I have ever seen a woman with a moustache before!"
Her innocence and sincerity in believing that statement, just cracked me up. I had to grab the steering wheel with both hands to steady the vehicle.
"Kuttyma, it is a guy with long hair! Not a woman with a moustache!" I said and she goes: "No daddy, that WAS a woman with a moustache!". We argued this back and forth a few times and I just gave up.
Now we have a latest addition to the list of Santa, Tooth Fairy, Racco the bad Racoon who runs the school for misbehaving kids.....
The moustached woman!

Sundar - are you sure that you are right? :)
Sundar, what do you think women do when they mention "threading?"
they go and pull the hair from their eyebrows ..
costs anywhere from 5 to 10 bucks depending on if the local desi beauty parlor (housed in the corner of some chat shop or dress shop or desi jewelry store!) and also depending on who is doing the threading.. is it the original desi woman with the fake beautician certificate or the mexican apprentice she has trained to show that she is an equal opportunity employer!
:)
yeah.. know all about this threading thing!
terri, why do you ask ?
:)
why question a dude about his knowledge of womanly beautification procedures ??
Why ??
Why ??
Sundar, if certain women didn't resort to threading of certain parts of the face, beside the eyebrows, Kuttyma would be entirely correct!
Mustachioed Poochandi. Now, when Kuttyma doesn't take her mum-mum, you know what to use as persuasion.
Terri, Based on all my experience of staring at people, this was a DUDE! positive!
BP&SK, the big one is not going to be scared by this..the little one is scary. the only fear she knows is the fear she sees in our face!
:)
sundar:
this reminds me of the time when my friend ganapathy sundaram was around (ganapathy, if you are around, raise your hand please ;-) in the usa for a couple of years. this is his story:
even though he lived in a usa apartment, like a pucca south indian (more pucca than me, i must hasten to add), ganapathy used to wear a veshti on a regular basis. if memory serves me right, he had to walk over to the complex's laundromat (still wearing his veshti). on the way out, a couple of local lads carefully observed him (head to toe). on his return from the laundromat, they continued their perusal of him.
finally, when he passed them, the jury obviously reached a verdict, because he heard a chorus from behind him: "man wearing a skirt, man wearing a skirt" ;-).
kids, i zay!!
- s.b.
hehe, lady with a mustache.
Terri is spot on ;-)
Kids view things differently. I have experienced this. A kid along with me saying loudly " Look at this man. He is just like Anjaneyar Umachi" . Imagine my situation.
