Mahatma Ghandi's Birthday

Ghandi's bithday is tomorrow October 2nd.

He got India independence from the Britishers by reinforcing "Non-Violence".

To commemorate his birthday, SUN TV (the tamil TV channel that is most popular in the US) is playing a recently released "Hit" movie titled "youth"

The trailer for this movie shows the hero threatening pretty much anyone and everyone who stands in his way with, you guessed it "VIOLENCE". Even the comedians in the movie seem to go around bashing people with sticks !!.

We might forget the fact that we got independence from a foreign country. Today's generation has been born in an independent country, and they take independence for granted..

We might even forget Ghandiji for having worked untiringly to get us the independence we enjoy.

But forgeting his message of "non-violence" and playing a violent movie to commemorate his birthday , tsk tsk !!!

Shame on SUN TV for the movie they are planing to show.

I am glad Gandhi is no more.! He would hang himself looking at the things going around.

Haha...
Sun TV has absolutely no logic when it comes to airing movies...
Its only logic would be to air it India TholaikatchigaLil mudhal muraiyaaga!!!!!
Vijay TV is a lot better...eventhough it follows the logic of aracha maava araikaradhu...it airs movies according to the occasion....

This is so unpatriotic and reflects how poor folks in India vale their hard earned freedow. On top of this, they have the nerve to make stinging comments on how some Indians have changed after coming to US by forgetting their values, patriotism etc- total hypocrisy.

October 2nd was the 136th Gandhi Jayanti, the celebration of Gandhi’s birthday.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in 1869 and is most famous for leading India

to independence through a nonviolent revolution. A follower of Tolstoy’s philosophy

of nonviolence, Gandhi went on to become one of the most famous and important

persons in modern history. Though we should celebrate this hero of peace every day,

his birthday is a good enough time to remember him, what he stood for, and what he

accomplished.

Happy Gandhi jayanthi

As a public school teacher, I am thrilled to have peaceful warriors to show my youth... Ghandi, MLK, John Lewis... and thousands of women... just a few of the role-models our young people need to learn about & emulate!
