A recent post on popularity of blogs being related to the bloggers gender sent me thinking..

and to do some checking!

Remembered seeing a link to a gender finder based on text content in Chennaicentral a long time back. Well, "remembered" is an under statement because when I did do a check just after reading that post with content from my post, it said "the person who wrote that text is Male" but the margin was 51% Male to 49% Female!

Apparently, this blogger has become more masculine, in the last 14 months that have passed. It is now 53% to 47% !

Wonder what the popular male blogs mentioned in the posts, articles and comments will get?

this blog is undergoing some massive template changes..

have almost gotten all old segments of blog into the new template, so that all the new draft blogger features can be tested!!

What is the point in being a technologist if you cannot test new stuff?

Well the only gripe is that all those cool buttons I made to categorize posts and the script that I copied off of Braveen, don't work on the latest template..

the nice collapsible buttons on the "old blogger posts" section is still giving me trouble. Ten years ago, I would have rolled up my sleeves, poured over the html code and figured out what was going on (well HTML was new to everyone anyways and I was young and still doing Fortran77 stuff). Now I am a toothless tiger and it takes me much longer when it comes to looking at code and fixing things...

If there is a kind soul out there who can look at my source file and tell me what I am doing wrong and why the "submenu" feature doesnt work....would really appreciate it!

For now, calling it a day!

and yes, bye to blogrolling.. Going to use the Blog List feature from Google (which was definitely a motivating factor for this conversion), where it can be linked to Google Reader.

It is getting hard to keep up with the changes. Posting is one thing. Spending time looking at code to fix template? Tsk.. Tsk..

Where are you Visitor....

Used to visit the-visitor.blogspot.com frequently.

I know that the visitor has been busy recently and stopped posting.

But what is interesting is that the link on my sidebar goes to the same URL, but it is now a new site maintained by someone else since May 2007 ???

How is that possible? I have been to the same URL as late as last month and there was a new post!

A blogger bug? I do not know "the Visitor"s real identity! If you read this blog and know the visitor, do let the visitor know. I do go back to old comments from the visitor and it shows a profile for Christy who has been on blogger since mid 2006.
The new visitor has a profile since April 2007..

Another funny thing with blogger. Ever notice the "next blog" button on the top of the blogger page? Sometimes I click it to see who else posted just after I did a post. This happens when I have checked out every link in my sidebar and am bored.

Last week, I was at home and clicked this link. The third time I clicked it, it went to a porn site! And when it opened that page there was no bar on the top with the "next blog" or "flag blog" button!

Right now, Jr. knows how to turn on the computer, double click the "e", type "uptoten" in the google home page and then go see her Boowa and Kwala animated clips! Sometimes, she sees my blog, when I have left it open. Guess I have to be more careful, now that blogger has an accidental way of delivering porn to your doorstep!

Is anyone else having the same problem that I am having.

When I go to blogger and say new post, I cannot put the cursor in the Title text box and type in a title.

Complained to Blogger and got no response!

it is just me ?

Please let me know..

I added a widget to my template that shows last three comments.. do not know if adding this causes the problem. Based on my limited knowledge, this should have nothing to do with the post editor!

Blogger guys actually responded today! (thanks to Boo and Visitor for pointing it out ahead of the blogger team!)

on a fix, in the meantime, you should still be able to enter a title for
your post by moving your mouse pointer to the top edge of the title field
instead of positioning the pointer at the center of the title field.
